Wot? No Wi- Fi?
StadiumappPlans to install stadium wide WIFI in the London Stadium have been abandoned after the collapse of the naming rights deal with an Indian company.

Mahindra Tech were awarded the technology contract to install and manage the new stadium wide WIFI but that deal also collapsed when Mahindra pulled out the naming rights deal with owners E20 Stadium LLP.

Earlier this year Karren Brady said “The Stadium will of course be fully connected in the fullness of time. The WIFI is being installed in stages, over a number of months, and should be finished later this year.”

We have been told that the operators, London Stadium 185 will re-look at WIFI in the new year with the option of finding a new partner to provide free WIFI to 57,000 supporters on match days but for now there are no plans in place.

Re: Wot? No Wi- Fi?
I know somebody who got TUPE transferred into them when his company outsourced the IT support.

Shipping youngsters over on visas and putting them up 4 to a room in shitholes in east london and paying them peanuts to replace local workers. They made most of the locals redundant but changed all of their t's and c's first so they got less of a payout.

Shocking cunts.

Everyone should just find out what network Brentford Road is on as he seems to be able to do what he likes online while he's at matches.

More trouble inside the ground at the next match when people realise they can't connect to flashscores to see how their team is getting on.

Re: Wot? No Wi- Fi?
Need a lot of routers - the stadium is basically a load on interconnected metal cages which are pretty good at reducing the range of any given router.

I doubt if it even costs in on a pay-per-use basis given that it will only be in (serious) demand for 22 days per year.

There are likely to literally be Wi-Fi "hot-spots" in and around the corporate area/restaurants or ant administrative facility, but I have no idea where they are of how big.

I'm no tech whizz kid, but all she has to do is plug the bloody router in.

Great news! Just what I need some plonker sitting next to me playing on-line while I'm watching football. WiFi in football grounds must be banned.

Re: Wot? No Wi- Fi?
Like being disconnected for an hour or two is the end of the fucking world - some people really do treat wireless internet as if it was a god. I bet they rely on it to tell them if they've just farted or followed through.

And when everything is instant and in real time, what next? Nailed on some fucking loser will start to demand he's told about stuff before it's actually happened.

Re: Wot? No Wi- Fi?
I understand the complaint from people RE: betting. 4g and 3g for me don't work at stadiums, particularly of this size. I used to have the same problem at Upton Park. It's because so many people in one area are trying to tap in to the same transmitter.

I think it's good there's no wifi. Means people will watch the game instead of pissing about on their phones or ipads.

Great news, hopefully you can't get a signal either and spend the match supporting the team instead of being nose deep in your mobile phones.

Fucking Wifi at football.
